SAFE Candlelight Vigil for Global Heritage at Worldwide
July 19, 2013 to September 30, 2013
Marking the 10th anniversary of the looting of the Iraq Museum, SAFE launches The Donny George Candlelight Vigil for Global Heritage and invites all citizens to light a candle and share their thoughts and comments on all or any of the following:• personal memories, reactions and experiences• current state of looting and the illicit antiquities trade in Iraq and worldwide• if and how the looting of the Iraq Museum has changed heritage preservation• have we learned any lessons? If so, which ones?• upcoming challenges to and opportunities for cultural heritage preservation• ideas and suggestions for preservation, including your own work• if and how public awareness has increased• what does cultural heritage mean to you?• how is cultural heritage relevant to everyday life?You can add a comment below or here. You can also upload documents, images and videos on your profile page, just be sure to share them with us.
